This lemon garlic butter tilapia is super easy to throw together and perfect for a lazy weekday dinner. It’s buttery, garlicky, bright, and herby, but still takes barely any effort.

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F. Pat the tilapia dry with paper towels and place the fillets on a baking sheet. Season generously with salt, pepper and paprika.

  2. 2

Mince the garlic and squeeze the juice from half a lemon.

  3. 3

Microwave to soften the butter, around 15 secs. After it soften, mix in italian herbs, minced garlic and lemon juice.

  4. 4

Brush the butter, garlic, Italian herb, and lemon juice mixture evenly over each tilapia fillet, making sure they’re all well coated.

  5. 5

Bake for 12 minutes, checking on the fish halfway through. Then broil for another 2 minutes.

  6. 6

You are all set. Feel free to slice the other half of the lemon for garnish. Serve with any sides you like; I served mine with a rice and quinoa mix.

Wine Pairing

Try with: Sauvignon Blanc

Look for a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc with this. The lemon and garlic complement the zesty, fruity character of Sauvignon Blanc really well. If you’re not a huge Sauvignon Blanc drinker, try Grüner Veltliner. This high-acid wine, like Sauvignon Blanc, also pairs beautifully with tilapia with lemon, garlic, and herbs
